Thinking of Home

We had a nice visit with Andrea’s brother Paul near Boise.  We don’t get to see him as often as we’d like.

Then it was head toward home.  As we came into eastern Oregon, we could see that the season has turned.  Much of this trip has been through areas where it is still late summer, but here it is getting ready for winter.

From Paul’s house to ours is over 400 miles, which is a longer day than we like.  So we stopped about halfway, in Pendleton.  We got here early enough to relax and walk around town a little.  But our thoughts have turned to home.  We sat in a coffee shop and made lists of what we need to do when we get home tomorrow.

It’ll be nice to see our friends at Rose Villa and to take up our Portland lives once again.  I love the road trips, but I also love living where we do.  It’s a good life.

  2. Just another note…a girlfriend and I were in Pendleton on Halloween having come in from La Grande where we had watched my son play football on his Western Oregon State College (now University) team. Snow was predicted in the pass and we chose to not be in it!! Checked into a motel and asked about a good restaurant…ate at the motel! Attended their Halloween party where a guy dressed as an outhouse won big time and then went to a dance! Girlfriend threw her knee out on the dance floor and we took a cab back to the motel and headed back to Seattle early the next morning. She would not see a Dr. until getting home and having her husband take her to the ER!!
